The 3rd round of the Adams Motorsports Park Drift Series was incredible! We really lucked out with the weather! There had been blistering temperatures all week and even on the day of the event. Luckily, by 6 PM, it had cooled down to a manageable level. All of the heat was on the track! You could definitely tell all the drivers were hungry for the win tonight, laying down some seriously impressive drifts. There were not many “running out of talent” tonight! A few more drivers showed up that I recognized from the last Sideways Sunday. About half way through their first practice, I saw some familiar faces showing up. Mauricio Ornelas, Enrique Mendoza and even “the batmobile” of Justin Moore hit the track. I started to get more excited since the competition had just gone up a notch.
Then, with a thunderous roar, Aurimas “Odi” Bakchis’s car comes to life!

August 11, 2011, was the second part of the Drift Series held at Adams Motorsports Park. The series consists of 4 race points, 1 drop (low score or missed event), and $500 cash for Series Champion + Prizes. The points structure is based on the Formula D style. The entry fee is $75 and the other sessions that take part earlier in the day are still $20 each. Each event has prizes for the top 3 drifters: 3rd and 2nd place get prizes/products and 1st place wins $300 plus prizes.
