I looked at the calendar on my cell phone, it was Thursday, you know what that means… Adams Motorsports Park drift night! I happily punched the time clock at work and rushed to the track. I got there in time to walk around and check things out. I found the car of none other than DJ Pow (pow pow).

I also saw the Godspeed car with a new hood! It is really coming along!

I headed down to the pits and spent some time hanging out with Team CALISLIDE. They are a fun bunch of guys that definitely live for drifting!

After about 15 minutes of hanging with the guys, it was time to head to the track. The first session could have also been known as Hoosierpalooza as cars flew off the track in every direction. Unfortunately, Jack seemed to get the worst of it somehow getting his car stuck on top of a stack of tires, the crash also ripped off his intercooler and ended his day.

Many of the drivers seemed to be struggling to get into the groove. I dodged a few cars like a football player! Eventually, most of the drivers seemed to settle in and started getting some of their consistency back. Chappy announced that Odi had arrived towards the end of the first session. I saw him pull into the pits with his other car.

The second session started and the drivers, possibly inspired by Odi’s presence, started to turn it up. A few drivers even challenged the Destroyer to a tandem!

It was really cool to see the grassroots guys getting a chance to take on a Formula Drift guy! The competition however was not limited only to the track. Troy started a hula hooping contest, but there was a catch! The winner had to take on the reigning champion! Jeannette from the Godspeed crew’s daughter takes to the stage. The competition was no match for her!

That was followed by the pizza-eating contest. Where else can you be entertained and fed for 3 dollars! In the last session of the night DJ Pow (Pow Pow) took to the track. I must say, I was quite impressed with his driving!

A black Firebird also jumped in on the last session and had a few scary runs!

The night wrapped up with JDM showing up to give away tons of free goodies to the crowd! Don’t forget that this Sunday is So-Cal Summer Daze! See you there!!!
